“The world is ending tonight.” I heard a voice coming from the shadows behind me, and I met the eyes of a tall man who had just emerged from one of the stalls. “Need a little pick me up?” I turned and saw that he was holding a bright pink pill bottle, tightly, but he was offering.
“What do you have?” I asked. “What do you mean the world is ending?” He smiled slow, and then opened his mouth as wide as it went for a moment. I didn’t understand.
“I got these fillings, tuned to the police scanners on one side, the news on the other.” I nodded, “Usually its just an awful racket, but tonight…” He smiled. “Tonight they’re both talking about the same thing, hot young terrorists, the presidents dead body. Governors Square is burning. Ethylcamphor Ultra.” He gestured to the bottle. I pulled out a bill from my pocket, and held it as he removed one of the pills for me. I leaned down and took a mouthful of water from the sink before taking the pill. He watched me intently as a swallowed.
“You think there’ll be a revolution?” I asked him, l not sure if I even believed him. He shrugged.
I looked back into the mirror after he left, but my face didn’t interest me any longer. Neither did Mica I realized, shit the pills were working fast. The moment I opened the bathroom door the music blew my hair back
